Domain Names and Blogger Blogs

Some of our friends were asking so we put up a site about Domain Names. You might be interested if you are looking for information about absolutely free domain names and how to register domain names.

When we were on Blogger, we had a heck of a time forwarding our custom domain name to our blogspot blog. (The problem was with webserve.ca who didn't provide us the ability to correctly point to google's name servers.

In the end, we had to admit defeat. (Not long after that, we switched to a free blog at WordPress.com . One day later, we invested in BlueHost and a self-hosted WordPress account.)

Although we don’t use Blogger to host run WebDiggin.com - An Adventure to Make Money Online, we still like to look at it every now and then to learn from it.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time, we started with Blogger. And, we liked it.

We were new to blogging, it was free. We loved google - and it provided widgets, easy to customize templates, and access to our html code for us to experiment with.

But, eventually during the course of our research, we started to hear about other features. Plug-ins that allowed you to list related posts at the end of a post automatically so you didn't have to do it manually. Plug-ins that let you rank the posts and sort them by popularity. We kept on hitting this term, WordPress.

We like Blogger, we really do. But we switched over to WordPress.com for a day (before we realized that you couldn't monetize the site or run Google AdSense on the free version of WordPress) and then invested in BlueHost for a number of reasons...
